Joining hands to save our environment

8 Jun

TO HIGHLIGHT the significance of World Environment Day, Fitness Zone personnel and members yesterday rolled up their sleeves and made their way to the Bukit Shahbandar Recreational Park and the sandy Tungku Beach for clean-up activities.

The clean-up was an idea of Wu Chun, the Managing Director of Fitness Zone, however, he was unable to lend a helping hand yesterday due to unforeseen circumstances.

The Fitness Zone activities to celebrate World Environment Day is also registered with the United Nation Environment Programme (UNEP).

In further advocating the theme of this year’s World Environment Day, ‘Think, Eat, Save,’ the staff of Fitness Zone on Thursday night collected leftover buns and bread from four bakeries – Mum Bakery, Lof Bakery, Le Apple and Mr Baker’s Bake Shop.

After the spruce up, which ended at Tungku Beach, participants tucked into the leftover buns and bread.
